Below are some in progress before and afters as this project is nearing completion. I am a Dunn Edwards girl so the colors I selected for this job were Dunn Edwards Alluring Umber for the main body, Dunn Edwards North Territory and Navajo White as the accents. These photos do not do the colors justice. The goal here was to warm up a big cold looking facade and soften with landscape improvement. New exterior lighting was added where there was none to add balance and interest. The paved walk up and patio are nearly complete. A beautiful wall fountain has been selected and will be installed shortly as well as mediterranean style awnings over the front door and upper right set of windows.
It looks great! I like the colors you selected. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's completed.

Yes it does make a big difference. This neighborhood is a sea of tans and grays. I think the home will stand out in a good way.

Thanks guys, I tend to push the envelope when it comes to color, my own house is Dunn Edwards Rosewood, if you have seen it, it is a shade of red.
Landscaping just jumps off these types of colors and will really complement this project when totally complete. It is ok to be different right! My client is extremely pleased with the way this is turning out. She says her neighbors have been very complementary. I am so happy you started this group because this is my absolute favorite thing to do and your blogs are great and informative. It is a huge part of the business that is often overlooked. After all, who cares about the inside if the outside is so ugly you don't want to stop in for a look.
Me too, the color turned out even better than the sample. The arch was the first thing to go!

Great minds think a like! We did remove the tree. I do not normally like to do that but it was not shading and totally ruined the balance of the house. I have been trying to coordinate a picture time when the lawn has just been mowed so here is what we have until I get that. Maybe you could stop by!

As I mentioned, I have not been able to time with the client the final before/afters. I wanted to wait till my pictures were perfect to post. The fountain had still not gone in yet.

Ana- See I am a fan of no trees in the front yard especially when they are blocking a window like this one was. I try to keep windows open and visible simply for saftey. Not to mention whats the point of having a window when it is covered by a tree or shrub, right? lol This home looks amazing I really like everything you did with the exterior. While I would love to stop by and mow it I don't think anyone would want the bill considering Cali is (just guessing) 3-5,000 miles away from me here in MI, and I get 10 mpg in my work truck lol. J/W is the walkway brick pavers or is it stamped concrete?

Those are brick pavers, shades of pink, tan and charcoal.
That's a big job but it really took a dated looking home to a modern property. Great colours!

Chris, I originally thought to move the tree over to the side to save it, I hate pulling up trees. The crew talked us out of it. I think it would have looked very nice angled off to the left as you face the property. Call me a tree hugger :)!!
Ana- I like trees too, just not fond of them in the front yard when they block the home (atleast not in the city... my place is not even visible from the road during the summer but I sit on 20 acres lol). The only reason I do not like them in the front yard really is because they tend to "hide" the home and its beauty, or at the least distract your attention from the home as this one did in my opinion. Especially when selling a home you want it to be seen from every possible angle so potential buyers don't miss it :-D
