I don't know about everyone else, but I love Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. It's just that everything goes so well together. It's sweet, sticky and filling. I tend to have food on the brain, maybe watching too many cooking shows but guilty I am.
Thinking of Peanut Butter and Jelly brought to mind all the great professionals sandwiched here together on AR. Realtors, Inspectors, Appraisers, Stagers, Mortgage folks. All the great fillings for a Super Real Estate Sandwich.
cheezy analogy you say....OK.... maybe another blog.
We all have so much to offer each other professionally and in that offering all our respective clients come out on the winning end I think. The knowledge shared here, the experiences and diversified opinions all serve our customers in the best way. Even our disagreements and differing opinions are valuable as they spark ideas on how to serve our clients better.
Peanut Butter and Jelly is simple, straight forward and hard to get wrong.
I read so many great blogs on this forum and marvel at the thought that goes into them. The smiles, laughs and comfort that derive from these blogs is just like the simple comfort of a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.
So, as I am constantly dieting, I freely admit the one thing I will never, ever give up, are my Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, both literal and figurative!
A great Labor Day to all!

Peanut butter and jelly...my favorite!
Have you ever tried a grilled PBJ? Use butter and grill in pan, delicious!!
Man, Sandy beat me to it----grilled is the best! (by the way you forgot us lowly inspectors in your AR Sandwich:)
Don, PBJ fans unite!
Sandy, never tried that, I didn't think you could improve on a classic but that sounds yummy!
Charles, my bad, I mentioned Appraisers and took it for granted Inspectors are one in the same!
Grilled P B & J ????? Hmmm, never heard of it. Have to try it. I know that right now the L. A. County Fair is happening in Pomona, CA, and they have everything under the sun and moon deep fried. You can really load up those arteries in no time. lol
Ana, OUCH!:) LOL
Ana:)
This is the most sensible blog post that I've read in ions! My personal peanut butter accompaniment is Marshmallow Fluff®. I hate to differ with your very eloquent approach. But, The FlufferNutterTM is by far a superior alternative. To dealve a bit deeper- I'm not sure if you addressed the brand of peanut butter that makes the best sandwich... my personal choice is PeterPan®, I can't get my finger on the reason; Peter is the best... I've tried them all... Reeses®, a good second choice, Jif® , oh, the many pretenders....
Thanks again for this fabulous contribution. Sorry for getting a bit carried away here- but this is a subject near and dear to me-as-well. ~ Your post just drove me nutty.
Happy Labor Day 2009

Did you mention something about cheese?
Nobody is going to listen to me and most people think I'm crazy when I say my favorite is peanut butter and tomato sandwiches. Peanut butter, mayonnaise, sliced tomato's and lettuce on your favorite bread. Dont' forget the salt and pepper. I told you!
I wouldn't touch a PB&J with a 10 foot pole. However, the analogy surely works for ActiveRain.
Just like a great Marinara Sauce, a wonderful vegetable stew or a special fruit salad, ActiveRain is a fabulous blend of many different flavors all blending into a powerful marketing force.
Ana- PB & J a tried and true, CLASSIC staple. (although, I've never heard of it grilled but would try it but for the fact that I wouldn't have the patience to wait for it to be grilled.)
Hi Jean, I have a soft spot for fried pickles too, shhh don't tell!
Charles, LOL, correction/addition included :) My Stager edjumacation, or lack there of could be holding me back!
Mott, I grew up on Peter Pan, most definitely the best! I think a Fluffernutter might send me over the edge though. Yes I did mention cheese, that could spark a pretty controversial debate, I must get all my blocks in a row first! :)
Hi Greg, that's really gourmet, have you been watching the Food Network! I might try it depending on the brand of mayo, I am a Best Foods (Hellmans) fan.
Try adding walnuts to your standard Pbj, even if you're using crunchy style, the walnuts work well.
Linda Metallo, Re/max Impact, Lockport, Il.
Lenn, thanks for stopping in, I put a great Marinara sauce right behind PB & J :)
Kathy I'm with you, my butter knife is super fast and sets me up quick! Thanks for commenting :)
Linda I like mine creamy smooth, the nuts get stuck in my teeth! thanks for commenting
Hi Ana~ I read this post (re-blogged) and came by to see your comments. I have never heard of or had a grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich!!
I eat Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwichs for breakfast about 5 days a week. I know thats strange.
I'm a Skippy Super Chunk kind of girl, with good old fashioned Concord Grape Jelly. Yum! Happy Labor Day!
Hmm...great analogy, Ana. Mott, I agree with you about the fluff...something I haven't had since I was a teenager...Jesus, that was years ago. But sorry, for all you peanut butter aficionados, Jif is simply the best!!!
... Excellent connection Ana, but which am I ? The PB or the J ???????
lol ! ... nice analogy :o)
Cheers !
Sheldon
I grew up with PB&J. Gotta be chunky - Strawberry Jam, on white bread (yeah, I know), AND...with potato chips in the middle. YUM!
Oh...and the 10 foot pole wouldn't work...gotta get up close and personal ;-)
This all sounds pretty yummy-- guess its almost dinner time.
The best thing about peanut butter and jelly is that you don't have to cook it! l
Ana - PB&J is my all time favorite and you can find me snacking on one in the wee hours of the morning
This is one of the yummiest posts ever!!! Such a perfect analogy. I'm not waiting for the wee hours today... You've made me hungry now so I'm off to make myself a Jiff Peanut Butter Sandwish with Welch's Grape Jelly. :) :)
I LOVE P and J too and the P has to be JIff!! I have to eat potatoe chips too!! So very yummy!! Fabulous analogy-you are so clever!!
Ana - Great analogy! I love PB&J's and AR
It is refreshing to hear everyone's viewpoints on the market, marketing, seo, social networking, etc. from each industry. Personally... I'm more of a Peanut Butter and Banana fan. :)
Hi Vicki, me neither, guess you are never too old to learn new tricks!
Charles, that shell thing could make things pretty crunchy
Chuck, what's so strange about that, it's fast and good for you too!
Christianne, back at you except swap the Skippy for Peter Pan lol, try it you'll like it REALLY:)
William, Thanks for commenting, maybe we should have a Jiff vs Peter Pan taste challenge.
Sheldon, Thanks..well since you asked, Stagers gotta be the Jelly, we make everything sweeter! :)
Rick.. Potato chips? Wow that's different, I usually squish those on bologna, my kids love it, could you be onto something here? :)
Bob & Carolin thanks for commenting and enjoy your dinner
Beverly..AMEN, nuff said :)
Donna, sounds yummy...enjoy and thanks for commenting
Hi Cathy another fan of chips with PBJ hmmm, I will have to research this, sounds like fun!
Michelle thanks, me too!
Brian excellent combo, thanks for stopping in.
Peanut Butter and Jelly is a great sandwich because it takes 2 seconds to make. It is good when you have no time to cook or stop off for a bite in-between clients. It can also stay in the car (if necessary) and not be refrigerated. So, it's a win-win situation for those of us who are always running around. (And, to think I thought real estate was a prestigious business before I did it!)

This is so funny! I had to check out a post entitled "Peanut Butter and Jelly" and I'm so glad I did. I can't wait to try one grilled!
Had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich today and then it was the topic of conversation at dinner. We had people just moving here from Luxenburg, others from the Netherlands via China and another from Fayettville AR via Geneva. Such an interesting group of peole with fabulous worldwide experiences. They did not share my love for Peanut butter and jelly...in fact, wrinkled up their noses.
Well if I ever get to China, I'll be taking my peanut butter to survive...I'm sure they are trying to survive some of our interesting food combinations as well as another culture!
Hi Ana -- I'm with you. There is something about pj that is timeless, I still eat them and love them after all these years!
Ana,
I'm sure I'll have something more compelling to say as soon as I get back from the kitchen. I can't stop thinking of a grilled PB&J.
Rich
I'm surprised Alan May hasn't told you his favorite: peanut butter, bananas, fried bacon pan fried.
Remember I am a Brit. Peanut Buteer and Jelly, the thought alone turns my stomach! Sorry just could not eat it. Active Rain and all it encompasses, well I just lap it up.
Cool metaphor. I just like plain peanut butter -- hold the jelly -- but I tried one of those deep fried Elvis sandwiches down at the Jersey shore -- fried peanut butter and bananas. Once was enough for me!
Nice way to tie everything together . . I love pb & j, gotta be grape jelly!
(pb & banana is good too)
Hi Ana,
I love your comparison between AR and pb&j. When I got sick as a little girl, my mother would make me Skippy peanut butter sandwiches on buttered toast with orange marmalade and bacon. No pb&j sandwhich I've made since then can compare to Mom's, but now I have to try grilling one thanks to everyones comments! As for the potato chips or lettuce and mayo - no thanks!
Hi Ana - how fun is this one! And just after I returned from seeing Julia and Julie (great movie if you haven't seen it yet).
Count me in for Chunky peanut butter and rasberry - it's dinner time here so adios!
Really nice holiday post!
Hi Ana ~ It is too funny to find a feature about PB & J since I was tempted to write a post about graham crackers today after discovering - while making peanut butter grahams - that they had shrunk the size.
I introduced my family to jelly after having a PB & J at a friend's house when I was five. Up until then we had only peanut butter. Peanut butter was such a family favorite that my uncle gave my parents - or more specifically my dad - a huge vat of it for a wedding present.
Liz
Hi Ana, personally, I love peanut butter sandwiches with raspberry jelly (with or without seeds). My grandmother always used to try to get me to try her favorite which was peanut butter and bananas. I never had enough courage to try it, though. Isn't it wonderful that a few lines about a sandwich ellicited so many opinions, and isn't that the wonderful thing about ActiveRain!
Hope you had a great Labor Day Weekend.
not too long ago I found I had a likeing for peanut butter and banana sandwiches. So where does that fit in. In the out of the box kind of group? hahaha
My husband loves a peanut butter and jelly sandwich ~ sometimes with a banana ~ I'll have to tell him about grill them.
I lenjoyed your post and the comments. I could eat PB&J 7 days a week. It has to be Peter Pan crunchy peanut butter though.
Phyllis, thanks for commenting and everyone things Staging is glamorous!
Sharon glad it grabbed you, enjoy your sandwich!
Saralou they don't what they are missing, thanks for commenting
Chris keep enjoying those sandwiches :)
Rich enjoy the "brain" food
Carla, that is quite a combo, my arteries are clogging as we speak!
Corinne take the plunge, you'll never regret it :)
Barbara I don't think I could do that either, I still have to chase after my kids every day!
Sara thanks and thanks for commenting
Eve I don't like too much to get in between me and my peanut butter except chocolate and the same works for my chocolate :)
Anna "Banana" I get called that all the time, I've never been able to get away from it, I must embrace it like you!:) Haven't seen the movie yet but it is on my list, thanks for commenting.
Elizabeth that's some wedding gift....write that graham cracker post,, thanks for stopping in.
Marie-Denise, thanks for commenting and I agree except it freaked me out to see my picture on the front page featured!
Angelia :) you could be right maybe I should pack and move this blog over there!
Sandy thanks for commenting, have that sandwich with your hubby.
Erik good man, Peter Pan is the best, thanks for commmenting
Peanut butter & jelly is still one of my favorites. Great analogy to. There are many types of jelly to go with your peanut butter just like there are many types of real estate professionals when we work together it is very satisfying for all. The combination is sweet and sticky. Sticking together and helping one another succeed will lead to some sweet and savory relationships as well as some sweet deals making for happy customers.
Ana, what you said was so cute: "Stagers gotta be the Jelly, we make everything sweeter!" So true. :)
I love creamy peanut butter with apricot pineapple jam on potato bread.
If I'm having bananas with peanut butter, it has to be Bonne Maman strawberry jam, though.
It appears that juicyzcl doesn't understand that there is a "nofollow" code in ActiveRain comments. That comment is link spam.
Morning Anna, what clear, concise blog about how all of us here are sandwiched together :) Love it! So many great blogs to learn from right at our fingertips!
By the way I like mine with potato chips stuck in the middle...too gross?
Great analogy Anna! Now I must try a fried PB & J! Why hasn't the State Fair of TX thought of this one?
Peanut butter and sliced cheese. I know I know sounds bizarre. Back during a little hazing in a fraternity I remember the lack of sleep the last week, counting the number of rice krispees in a box and then a big wind coming up and starting over and only eating peanut butter sandwiches. Alone it is dry and kind of took a break from the stuff after that.
Ana...
Your title grabbed me. Nice post and now I'm very hungry!
If I don't like peanut butter does that make me a socialist? I always used butter instead. Loved the jelly though.
Nice analogy. I'm more of a peanut butter and honey guy though.
Should be a food group of it's own!
Love the analogy between PBJ and the AR family. Great combinations have a tendency to last.
Yummie.....I too love P B & J sandwiches, always have. P B & J is great on toast too!
On fact i think I'll go make one right now....
Later,
Patricia Aulson/portsmouth nh homes
My wife loves peanut butter and PBJs.
I can tolerate peanut butter but I don't like PBJs (nothing personal - I prefer a slice of ham and tomato any day).
I guess we're proof that opposites attract - just like here at AR!
For you banana and peanut butter lovers: http://www.crumblycookie.net/2008/09/18/banana-and-peanut-butter-stuffed-french-toast/
My son eats PB and ketchup! Yuck!
I haven't had a PB&J for quite some time - now you've given me the urge - I'm trying to decide between grape, strawberry or pineapple for the J.
Very clever analogy. I really like your approach!
Charles, absolutely, you are so right. Thanks for commenting
Bob & Lailani, thanks for commenting, enjoy your yummy sandwiches
Hi Lenn, "juicy" is no longer with us so annoying, being spammed a lot on AR lately.
Good Morning Cynthia, thanks for commenting. You appear to have lots of company in the PB and potato chip lovers group. I may have to explore this combination, however I fear there may be no turning back!
Karen, thanks for stopping in. I am surprised too but you best believe when they do it will be the biggest one ever!
Andrew, PB and sliced cheese sounds seriously twisted, I think I would rather count rice krispies, too funny!
Richard, thanks! so go eat!
Joe, I don't know, sounds unamerican to me :) Depends on how you feel about Hot Dogs?
Darrell, Thanks for commenting, I too like PB with honey, it's my no jelly in the house back up.
Hi Pat, yes they do and I think this AR combination is super
Patricia, enjoy but don't burn the toast like me!
Dan, you are right there is plenty of space here for each and everyone's uniqueness
Bridget, oh no...you have to have a talk with that child !
Hi Jesse, try one of each for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Karen, thanks for commenting
Ana, with peanut butter and jelly, like many things combined, some things just go well together!!
I agree, Ana...AR is akin to a comfort food like PB&J. Generally, just a nice place to sit back and relax with a mixture of people. I love PB&J's. In fact, I got engaged as a result of them...that's another story.
It is a nice feeling to know that I'm not as odd as I thought I was for liking them (or at least I'm not alone ;) I like mine to be made with butter (the real stuff), PB (Skippy), and jelly (strawberry preserves-yum!).
As to JIF-their ads have it 100% correct "It's the peanuttiest!" I prefer not to have a PJ sandwich, though. And any sandwich made by someone else always tastes better (especially Mom's) because of the extra love that's put in them-that's what I have always thought. May your day be filled with PB&J!
I've found that I can't keep the weight on unless I eat one PB&J a day - LOL.
P B & J. A great combo. I like the comparison the the real estate world as well. It fits.
Great comparison! I will have to try fried :)
PB&J - Doritos (original nacho cheese flavor) and milk are the only lunch that I would ever eat in the 3rd grade...it was good then and it's good now! LOL And you are correct, it's great to have all the different branches of real estate living together under the roof of Active Rain!
Ana, I loved this analogy. And I haven't had a PB&J in tooooo long. I'm making one tonight. =)
Gary you are right, you can't beat a classic, thanks for commenting
Amy, falling in lover over PB&J sounds very romantic :)
Ross, sigh...me too...it could be the next dieting fad! Thanks for commenting
Nicholas, thanks for commenting, everything fits with PB&J
Wendy, let me know how it turns out :)
Christine, sounds like the perfect 3rd grade lunch to me!
Hi Maggie, go get on and enjoy, thanks for commenting
I LOVE peanut butter and jelly . . . always have, always will. Hubby hates it. That's okay. More for me!
Hello Ana-I don't think there is too many people that don't like peanut butter and jelly. There are a few here but I am a big fan. Congrats on the feature. :-)
Are any of you old enough to remember the peanut butter machine. I can't remember who made it but it was a toy wherein you would put in your peanuts, turn the crank and out would come peanut butter. It would take sometime to get enough to make a sandwich but it would always be with...you guessed it...jelly. There I go musing again!
Thanks for the post.
Fun post Ana -- OK, my "only" peanut butter is Crunchy Unsalted Organic - and the "j" can be strawberry or raspberry jam (not jelly) on whole grain bread. Then I'm in heaven!
Melissa, good for you enjoy!
Pat Thank so much, who knew Peanut Butter and Jelly was so popular with active rainers!
David, Thank you, I've been around a while but I missed that one, good thing or I would never have eaten anything else!
Hi Maureen, super healthy peanut butter is a good thing, I just can't give up my Peter Pan :), thanks for commenting.
Hi Ana,
I have to admit it's been several years since I've had a PB & J sandwhich. Now I've got a craving for a PB and banana sandwhich. Yum! :-)
-Keith
I love the analogy but can't see a grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich. For me, it would have to be grilled cheese.
Hi Ana. When I was a young girl I remember seeing peanut butter for the first time and telling my grandmother, "Dirty! Dirty!" Your post reminded me of a sweet memory. Happy belated Labor Day to you too :)
If times get rough, you can survive a long time on a few spoonfuls of peanut butter a day. I always have several jars around.
Nothing better than a nice PB&J cut up in little pieces and watching my 1 year old boy eat it and laugh at the sticky peanut butter.
Okay I didnt see this if it was here then sorry but peanut butter...banana and Honey! yeah that is the ticket! grilled or plain!
WOW! Tons of variations with just a few ingredients. Whether it's grilled, fried, has bananas, jelly (of any kind), marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, of any variety, seems to be a staple that has been the foundation of a sandwich for many years. The same goes with the ananlogy: a few long time staples-realtors, inspectors, appraisers, & mortgage folks (sorry if I forgot anyone) all teaming up with some newer variations like stagers make for a great twist on an old classic. Loved the post!
Happy Labor Day (a few days late)
~Diane
Hi Keith, PB and Bananas seems pretty popular right in front of PB and potato chips :)
Hi Christine, thanks for commenting, grilled sounds odd to me too but sometimes odd stuff is the best :)
Lana, so glad... because those memories are the best...thanks for commenting
Carol, you are right ... once a lived off PB and a pound of m&ms for a week.
James...that is the BEST, my son always asks to have his cut in 4 pieces, it has to be or he won't eat it and he's 8!
Debra, the honey is a new addition to the PB and honey, sounds yummy,,enjoy!
Hi Diane, thanks for commenting and same to you!
Mott, thanks so much for reblogging this!
Ana,
Thanks for reminding us that we are all in this together! I love peanut butter on a bagel for breakfast - it's a great way to start the day.
Hi Maria, I agree and think most all of us are of the same mind because everyone seemed to get the point of this blog. I appreciate you stopping in to comment! :)
Ana
Ana:
I just had 2 PB&Js after a very busy day (Skippy natural, Smuckers Strawberry Jelly on Wheat) - which has immensely improved my disposition.
Thank you for your excellent suggestion.
Peanut butter and bananas is one of my fav's....
Hi Lisa, have one for me! Thanks for stopping in :)
Jesse you're welcome, now make it a regular habit!
